War Spur Loop

War Spur Loop was once a relaxing 2 mile hike. With children, it feels more like we've been in the backcountry for 3 weeks (and we pack for it, too!), but it was a beautiful day and a lot of fun. Will hiked the whole way - Libby had to be carried because she didn't wear the proper footwear. Will gave the wildlife researchers something to look at along the way.

Hiking at War Spur

The 2 mile war spur loop used to be a relaxing and moderately easy 2 mile hike. Yesterday, I came out feeling like I'd been in the backcountry for 3 weeks (Mark carried enough stuff to have spent 3 weeks in the backcountry). Will did walk the entire way by himself, though, and gave the wildlife researchers something to look at. Libby had to be carried the entire time, because she made a poor choice in footwear. It's hard to beat October in Virginia and it was a gorgeous day.

Big Visit

The Fullerton gang came to town last weekend, and Libby Lou got to meet her best friend, Maggie Montana - she immediately started pulling her hair - I believe she is envious of Maggie's lustrous locks. Our dear friend Matt was also in town, and managed to put up with all the cooing over babies, as did the Spaz. We toured the babies around campus, hit the Rivermill, and Will got to ask every question he's ever had about beekeeping.

...And here's what happens when you let Matt man the camera....

The Beach

We had a great time at the beach - soaked up lots of sun, Granddad was very busy taking care of children, and Will chased seagulls for miles. Many thanks to the Stone/Fullerton gang. A Stone's Throw has been my favorite vacation spot since 1979!
